Report writing
Well-written reports are key to good decision-making.
What?
This course trains writers to craft reports that are complete, concise, well-written and persuasive. It applies to all types of reports.
It is run over one day, 1.5 days or several half-day modules – whatever suits you. In most cases, we do individual document assessments before or after the workshop, or both.
We can also develop a course that blends face-to-face workshops with online learning, on your learning management system or ours.
We adapt this course to suit an organisation’s or team’s specific needs, audiences and templates. We have particular expertise in reports for local bodies, including political, compliance and regulatory reports.
Who?
Staff who need to write reports at work, and managers who wish to improve how they guide their report writers.
Why?
So that writers will be able to:
- use effective processes to prepare, write and review reports
- use your organisation’s report templates effectively
- select, structure and order content well
- write persuasively and concisely
- help decision-makers make sound, well-informed decisions.
They said it...
The course is one of the best I’ve participated in. One of the best aspects is the way it uses our writing examples as training material.

It was an enjoyable, informative course. It was very well structured, practical and run by a trainer with extensive local government experience.
